Delaware Pullet

$3.49 / EA

Delaware Chickens were originally developed in the state of Delaware in the 1940s, by crossing Barred Plymouth Rocks and New Hampshire Chickens. In the days before the Cornish-Rock Cross, they were the most popular broiler birds and are still a top pick for those looking for a sustainable heritage breed flock.

Delaware's are a beautiful, mostly white bird, with black and white tail and neck feathers. This dual-purpose breed features excellent egg production, around 4-6 brown eggs per week, and has superior meat characteristics.

Average mature weight: Roosters 8 1/2 lbs., Hens 6 1/2 lbs.
